Read Across America Week – March 2nd-6th
We're thrilled to announce that J.M. Odom Elementary School will be celebrating Read Across America Week from Monday, March 2nd through Friday, March 6th! This is a fantastic opportunity for our students to celebrate the joy of reading while having fun with themed dress-up days.
Here's what's happening each day:
Monday, March 2nd – Reading Brightens Our World!
Kick off the week by wearing your brightest colors! We'll be celebrating colorful stories like The Rainbow Fish and Pete the Cat: Crayons Rock! Let's light up campus with vibrant outfits!
Tuesday, March 3rd – Team Up for Reading Tuesday!
Show your school spirit by wearing your favorite team shirt or jersey! This day launches our March Reading Competition, so come ready to support your team. Check out books like Go Team! My First Sports and Soccer Dreams for inspiration.
Wednesday, March 4th – Wild About Reading Wednesday!
Students should wear animal print or dress as an animal! Don't forget to bring your favorite stuffed animal to read to. We'll be celebrating wild stories like Where the Wild Things Are and Giraffes Can't Dance.
Thursday, March 5th – Saddle Up for Reading!
Time to embrace your inner cowboy or cowgirl! Students are invited to wear cowboy/cowgirl attire. We'll be inspired by stories like Every Cowgirl Needs a Horse and B is for Buckaroo: A Cowboy Alphabet.
Friday, March 6th – Favorite Character Friday!
Cap off the week by dressing as your favorite book character! Whether it's The Lorax, Pete the Cat, Fancy Nancy, The Cat in the Hat, or any other beloved character, let your imagination run wild!
Special Treat: Kona Ice will be on campus on Friday for students to purchase snow cones! A flyer with pricing will come home with students.
